Recovery

The injury
I tore my ACL in October 2023 during a morning training session. It showed me that I could not do everything on my own. During rehab, I isolated myself from the world, including my family, to show that I was fine alone. That was not good for me. I needed people but lacked the courage to ask for help or simply to talk. It was a difficult period mentally.
The rehab
Physically, I spent 4-5 hours every day for eight months working to get back on the pitch and express myself fully again. The first two weeks after surgery were the hardest in terms of pain, but it improved steadily with time.
What I learned
I learned that great things cannot be achieved alone. I relied on doctors, physiotherapists, coaches, athletes, friends and family. I also noticed that once someone’s part in my journey was done, I thanked them and moved on without looking back, and I want to be better at that. I know I can always do more and push myself further.
This period also led me to read widely, which has been one of the best decisions of the last few years.
“Great things cannot be achieved alone.”
Coming back
It was a bad phase, and I overcame it. After my ACL rehab, I won the Under-19 ISSO championship and beat Karnataka Under-19. I felt proud and could see how far I had come.
